The Oran High School volleyball team managed to pick up a split in tonight's action in Leopold.
The junior varsity team picked up it's first win of the season. The jv now 1-3, won in straight sets 25-13 and 25-11.
Coach Collier stated, "Junior Varsity had their first win, and they deserved it. They played hard and together, and they were so excited to win."
The varsity, however, fell in straight sets, 15-25 and 16-25. Brianna Stause and Kenzie Graviett each had an ace. Graviett had 2 kills and Stause 1 for an Eagle squad that is also 1-3.
Collier said this about the older team, "Varsity is still trying to adapt to a couple key players out for injury. This requires the rest of the team to step up. They have sporadic moments where they do, but other times it shows we've got some work to do. We are still working, and still believing."
Oran will travel to New Madrid County Central on Thursday for a conference match at 6 pm.
