Less than four minutes into the opening period, the Eagles were on the short end of a 22-2 score, and trailed after 1, 34-14.
Oran actually out-scored the Hornets the rest of the way, but the early deficit was too much to overcome.
The Eagles cut the lead to 10, 67-57, with just under 2 minutes remaining in the third quarter but could not get any closer.
Max Priggel had a huge night, scoring a game-high 30. He hit 1 from beyond the arc and was 9 of 10 from the charity stripe. Cole Priggel picked up 15 points, while Jacob Shoemaker scored 11 including 2 treys.
Layne Johnson added 8. Garrison Mangels chipped in 4 while Blake Schlitt had a field goal for his 2 points.
Preston Hahn, Luke Barnes and Wyatt Kinney got minutes but not points.
It was the final game for three seniors. Hahn, Mangels and Schlitt all completed their hoops careers for Oran.
The Eagles were 11 of 13 from the line for 85%.
They finished the season with a 15-14 record and lost in the district championship game for the third straight season.
This morning, Head Coach Joe Shoemaker told the blog, "I was very proud of how hard the boys fought. They just jumped on us early. It is hard to prepare for that environment without actual game experience. We will really miss our three seniors who gave us everything they could for the last four years. I want to thank all of the players, parents and community for the support."
