Postseason honors announced for softball
The Oran High School softball team had 5 players honored recently.
The Scott-Mississippi All-Conference team includes: Tatum May, sr., Sydney Kern, so., Leah Cauble, fr., Jessie Long, fr., and Claire Ramsey, fr.
All five lady Eagles were named to the All-District team: Cauble, Kern, and Long as infielder; May as an outfielder and Ramsey as a catcher.
The All-Region team was also announced. The first team includes: Tatum May and Leah Cauble. Those receiving honorable mention were: Jessie Long and Claire Ramsey. The All-Region team is made up of players from districts 1-4.
During the season May batted .442 with 1 home run and 17 runs batted in. From the circle she had a 4-5 record with 1 save. She tossed 2 complete games and a total of 43 innings striking out 35.
Kern hit at a .404 clip and drove in 8 runs. She led the team with 25 runs scored and 21 stolen bases.
Cauble topped the team with a .455 batting average. She had 1 home run and a team-high 24 RBI.
Long batted .417 with 14 runs driven in.
Ramsey hit .364 with a team-leading 3 home runs. She also drove in 18 runs while getting most of the innings behind the plate.
