The Oran High School baseball team scored in every inning yesterday as they defeated the Puxico Indians 17-1 in a five inning road victory.
The Eagles used 2 big innings to key the win.
Oran sent 10 to the plate in the second inning to score 5.
Then in the third, 11 batters batted and 7 crossed.
The Eagles emptied their bench in the fourth.
Layne Johnson got the win to improve to 3-1 on the year. He went the first four innings, he allowed 1 unearned run on 1 hit. He struck out 9 while walking 2. Wyatt Kinney made his mound debut, tossing the fifth. He struck out one and walked one.
At the plate, Johnson went 3-4 including a double with 4 RBI. Drew Reischman had 3 hits in 3 trips to the plate with one run driven in. Max Priggel, who got a start with the absence of Austin Eftink, picked up 2 hits, with a triple and 2 RBI. Todd Priggel had a single and a double and drove in a run. Denver Elfrink was 2-3 with 1 RBI. Drew Mitchem had a triple and a sac fly to drive one in. Jacob Shoemaker was 2-2 and scored 4 times.
Oran swept the home and home with Puxico this year, after splitting last year, with a 15-1 home victory on August 29th.
The Eagles are now 7-1 on the fall season. They will host the Leopold Wildcats Thursday at 4:30.
