It was a tough night last night for the Oran High School volleyball teams as both squads were defeated by the host Zalma Bulldogs. The varsity lost, 20-25 and 23-25. The jv fell 18-25, 15-25.
For the yourger group, Cami Cruz had an ace and 2 assists, Ali Hornback also had an ace and added a kill. Savannah Below had 2 kills, while Megan Henson and Savannah Elfrink each had a kill. Kaitlyn Streeter chipped in with a service ace.
For the varsity, Olivia Schlosser set 13 assists. Kenzie Graviett had 3 aces and 5 kills. Kaylee Payne had an ace and 2 kills. Brianna Stause was credited with 5 kills. Jessie Long had 3 kills and Megan Tenkhoff 2.
Coach Larry Boshell said, “I thought we played well at times. We set the ball well, played pretty good defense and hit the ball well at times. We just have to put all phases of the game together at the same time and finish them with a win.”
The jv is now 1-6 and the varsity is 4-7-1.
The Eagles will be back on the road this evening when they take on conference foe Sikeston at 6 pm.
