What's happenin' (11/21-11/23)
It will be a short week in the classroom, but there will be a full slate of hoops action this coming week.
School will be dismissed at noon on Wednesday for the Thanksgiving break, but before that Monday and Tuesday will be busy as the junior high boys will see their seasons end and the high school girls will start playing for keeps.
On Monday the action will resume in the Scott-Miss tournament at Scott County Central. The 7th grade, the 3 seed, will face the second-seeded Kelly Hawks at 5:45. Kelly won the regular season match-up 48-13. The 8th grade, the 2 seed, faces the three-seed, Scott City Rams at 8:15. The teams met twice earlier. Oran won both contests, 46-21 and 50-29.
Also on Monday, the high school girls will start their regular season on the road as they will travel down to Malden for a 6 pm contest with the Green Wave. Last year, the Eagles won 54-31.
The girls will hit the floor again on Tuesday when they have their home opener against conference foe Scott County Central. They played each other three times last year and the Eagles were victorious in all. Tip time is 6 pm.
The junior boys will play on Tuesday if they win on Monday. The 7th grade would play for the championship at 6 pm, and the 8th grade would play at 7:15.
