For the first time in recent memory, the Oran High School baseball team played a seven-inning junior varsity contest.
On Tuesday, they defeated the Scott City Rams 6-1.
Ty Johnson picked up the win in relief. He went two innings, gave up one hit, struck out three and walked one. Kaden Hargrove threw the first four scoreless frames. He did not allow a hit. He struck out five and walked one. Kole Simms picked up the save. He pitched the seventh. He gave up an unearned run on one hit. He struck out two and did not walk a batter.
Hargrove was two of three at the plate, with a double and three rbi.
Carter Heuring, Dane Shands and Keaton Stepp added a run batted in each. Shands crossed the plate twice.
Myles Trankler also hit a double for the only other extra-base hit for the Eagles.
The next JV only action is scheduled for Tuesday, April 10th at home against Portageville at 4:30.
