High School girls tip on Thursday

The Oran High School girls varsity basketball team will hit the floor on Thursday when they participate in a preseason jamboree at Holcomb.  According to the Missouri High School Activities Association (Mshsaa.org), these are the rules regulating such an event:

The schedule for Thursday's event is:

4:30 Holcomb vs Delta
5:15 Oran vs Kennett
6:00 Oran vs Delta
6:45 Kennett vs Delta
7:30 Holcomb vs Oran
8:15 Holcomb vs Kennett

This year's varsity will have a new look.  After graduating four starters from last year's team that finished 22-7 and won it's district a sixth straight time. One of those starters finished as Missouri's all-time high school leading scorer as well as All-State all four years and Class 2 player of the year during her senior campaign, Leah Cauble, who is now at D-II powerhouse, Union University.  Also gone is 1,000 plus point scorer, Jessie Long.

The Eagles do return senior, Kaylee Payne, who is only 33 points shy of the one thousand point plateau. and a junior varsity team that finished 14-3 and won the conference tournament championship and finished second in the Bloomfield varsity invitational. last year.
